    A Creative Evening with the Allen Memorial Art Museum & Oberlin College

    Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County for a free, fun-filled evening at the Allen Memorial Art Museum, hosted in partnership with Oberlin College’s Art Department. This special Allen After Hours event invites families, mentors, and youth to explore art, creativity, and community in an exciting, hands-on way.

    Start the night inside the Allen, where guests can enjoy refreshments, browse world-class galleries, make crafts, play games, and participate in interactive activities led by art staff and students. Afterward, continue the experience with the Annual Oberlin Art Walk, featuring student artwork displayed throughout the community.

    Social Media and Your Kids: A Parent University Workshop

    Join Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lorain County for a free, comprehensive Parent University session focused on understanding the impact of social media on youth. This workshop will help parents, caregivers, and mentors navigate the rapidly changing digital world and learn how to support healthy online habits.

    Led by Emily Fagan-Zirm, M.A.Ed., this session explores the mental health consequences of premature and excessive social media use, the digital influences that shape youth behavior, and practical strategies to help families manage online activity with confidence.
