Volunteer to
start something
What if every child fulfilled their potential? Think how amazing that would be. Now, you can start more Littles on the path to big things.
As little as $10 will make a big difference!
Volunteering is fun, big time.
Being a Big Brother or Big Sister is one of the most enjoyable things you’ll ever do. Not to mention, one of the most fulfilling. You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering them to achieve. And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun. You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do.
Play sports together. Go on a hike. Read books. Eat a pizza with extra anchovies. Or just give some advice and inspiration. Whatever it is you enjoy, odds are you’ll enjoy them even more with your Little—and you’ll be making a life-changing impact.

Big Brothers Big Sisters offers three basic programs.
Community Based Program: The community based program is the traditional Big Brothers Big Sisters program that matches children ages 6-14. Children simply want and an extra person in their lives. Independent research shows kids who are matched with "Bigs" are more likely to succeed in life. Commitment is a few hours a month.
School Based Mentoring: Is not a classroom program, and it's not tutoring. School Based Mentoring is one-to-one mentoring that takes place in the schools. Of course, some students do talk with their mentors about class, or do homework, or read together, but it's really all about friendship and guidance. You can play or jump rope or shoot hoops -- whatever you and the student enjoy. You don't need any special training or certification. If you can spend an hour and a half a week, maybe this program is for you!
Big For a Day
Becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister for a Day, you provide a fun activity and an afternoon of friendship to a child currently on our waiting list to be matched with an adult mentor. The children on our waiting list are often so anxious to get started in the program that they can become discouraged with the long wait.
Volunteering just a few hours a month with a child can start something amazing. So why not apply to be a Big today. There are kids out there ready to get started. Are you?
